TIVERTON

 

Somerset in England’s West Country has a wonderful mixture of countryside and coast. Beautiful

villages and historic market towns are a joy to explore and the county is dotted with historic stately

houses and gardens. North Devon meanwhile has a spectacular coastline and the rugged vistas of

Exmoor.

 

 

ITINERARY

MONDAY

 

Depart Leyland 09-00 for the journey south-west to Tiverton.

 

TUESDAY to THURSDAY

At leisure in Tiverton Included excursions

 

Full Day tour of Exmoor including Simonsbath and the lovely North Somerset Coast to Lynemouth,

connected to Lynton by a cliff railway. You will have time to wander through the narrow picturesque

streets and admire the views. Later continue along the scenic coast road via Porlock and its famous

hill to the resort of Minehead from where we join our steam hauled train for the 20 mile journey

through the stunning scenery of the Quantock Hills and along the coast to Bishops Lydeard. Re-join

our coach for the return journey to Tiverton

 

Morning visit to Knightshayes (admission included). Situated 2 miles north of Tiverton it is said to

be one of the finest gardens in Devon, mainly woodland and shrubs with a fine water garden

 

Sidmouth the quaint east Devon resort is our destination this morning. After lunch travel to

Exmouth for an afternoon circular boat cruise along the River Exe. (included)

 

A leisurely excursion which begins with a drive to Barnstaple and its famous Pannier Market.

Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey to Leyland
